These slightly aggressive Umberella Cichlid fish is a great addition to a lively aquarium. Good, soft water conditions are best for these species.

  Ease of care
  Moderate. Will need a strong filter because they are messy but like good water conditions.
  Diet
  Grazers and pellet can be given regularly. Frozen & live food like Daphnia and Bloodworm should be also given to help enhance the colours.
  Compatibility
  Community of similar size with no long fined fish. They can be slightly aggressive so caution is advised. Should not be placed with other Apistogramma.
  Breeding/ Sex
  Moderate. They lay eggs in small crevices or cavities. Male Umbrella Cichlids are larger and more colourful than females.
  Life Span
  They can live to anything from 3-5 years in perfect conditions.
