Schismatoglottis prietoi “Rare” potted

Description

Schismatoglottis prietoi can resemble Anubias, wit 3-8 cm long, eliptic leaves. Growth is faster, though, and it grows best planted in the bottom layer, where it willingly produces runners.

It is an undemanding and easy plant, thriving very well in most aquaria, even in very poor light. Schismatoglottis prietoi naturally grows in rivers of the Phillipines, where it often appears in large, dense groups.

General Information and Cultivation:A slow growing plant, relatively easy to cultivate in both emerse and submerse conditions. In habitat,Schismatoglottis prietoihas been found growing both as perennially aquatic, and as semiaquatic populations (Boyce et al. 2015). Similar to Anubias in its cultural requirements, though more care should be taken when grown emerse (due to its softer leaves). Attach to wood and rocks, or plant directly into the substrate (preferred). Do not bury the rhizome or it may rot. In terrarium culture,Schismatoglottis prietoigrows to about 80mm in height.
