This smaller sized rainbow is very nice, developing distinctive red stripes along the body and red spotted fins. Best kept in a planted tank with some open swimming space.They are a highly specialized species restricted to a small geographical area and a unique habitat, found in moderate to high flowing waters in Northern Queensland.

Utchee Creek Rainbowfishare peaceful community fish that prefer to swim in groups of 6 or more. Best kept in a ratio of one male to two females. They can also be kept with other peaceful community fish and Rainbowfish of similar size. Avoid keeping with fin nipping species.

Diet:
Utchee Creek Rainbowfish are omnivore’s. Feedprotein rich foods such ashigh-quality flake foods and small pellets. For healthy fish, ensure a varied diet. This species enjoy live foods such as bloodworms, blackworms and brine shrimp. They also feed on algae and spirulina based foods. Fresh vegetables such as lettuce, kale, zucchini and cucumber can be provided.
