Corydoras are a type of bottom-dwelling peaceful schooling fish that should be kept in groups of six or more. There are well over a hundred different varieties, but they all share several common traits. As they are catfish, they have sensitive barbels that they use to search for food in the sand. Also, they really prefer sand as a substrate over other options, like gravel. All of them are tropical, though each variety has a preference for a specific temperature range. Most are also very easy to breed!
