It is best kept alone in large reef systems or in peaceful communities, as it can become stressed when around certain fish. Take care when adding to a reef tank, as it may nibble on soft invertebrates such as anemones and feather dusters. Despite its challenging diet, the Copperband Butterflyfish plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of reef aquariums by consuming glass anemones and helping to control aiptasia.
