Males radiate beauty in courtship with red and yellow dorsal fins contrasted by deep blues and yellows. Females have more subdued color with shorter fins. A 55 gallon or larger aquarium with a tight-fitting lid is essential, since this flasher is known to jump. Introducing the females first is best– if a group is desired, they will encourage males to put on colorful displays. Keep this wrasse with peaceful tank mates, as it can easily be harassed. Its diet should include vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, as well as high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
