L177 – Yellow Seam Gold Nugget Pleco – “Baryancistrus xanthellus”

Description

Common Names: Gold nugget pleco, Queen gold nugget.

Typical of “gold nugget”, black bodied with white spots and a yellow seam to the dorsal and tail. L177 had larger spots than L081 and when young is easy to confuse with L018, although L177 tends to have a slightly broder yellow seam to the fins.

The Gold Nugget Pleco is a shy bottom-dweller that appreciates plenty of driftwood in its environment.
