Beckford’s Pencilfish

Description

Nannostomus beckfordiis the most common species of pencilfish in the aquarium trade. With many naturally-occurring colour variants, it has earned itself many alternate common names, such as the Golden or Brown pencil. These are a very peaceful schooling fish, especially valued for largely ignoring fry. This makes them the perfect dither fish for breeding pairs/groups of dwarf cichlids. Like all schooling fish, we recommend a group of at the very least 3 specimens, with 6-8 or more being much better. The larger the school, the more comfortable the fish; and the more comfortable the fish, the better their appearance and behaviour will be.

These are subadults of an unspecified colour form, around 1″ long.
