Description
The Keyhole Angel (Centropyge tibicen) is a large species from the Centropyge genus. While not as colorful as other angelfish, it boasts a primarily dull blue to brownish-blue coloration with a yellow pelvic and lower anal fins. Its defining feature is a white vertical bar on its mid-central body. Maintaining this fish in an aquarium requires at least a 70 gallon tank with ample live rock for hiding and grazing. Be cautious with other sessile invertebrates, as the Tibicen Angelfish may nip at stony and soft corals, as well as clam mantles. Its diet should consist of Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty items. It is hermaphroditic and notoriously difficult to breed in captivity, with no clear distinction in color between males and females. Feed 2-3 times daily.
