Description
The Red Sea Sailfin Tang, also known as Zebrasoma desjardinii, is a dark to very light gray fish with freckles on its nose and abdomen. Its body features varying sized yellow stripes with intricate markings, and a blue tail with white spots. With the ability to double in size by raising or lowering its dorsal and anal fins, this aggressive species requires a spacious 180 gallon or larger aquarium. While it may show hostility towards its own kind, it is peaceful towards other fish and should be kept alone or in a large tank. In addition to a diet of filamentous algae, it is important to offer this Tang plenty of marine-based seaweed and algae to maintain its immune system and overall health. Feeding at least 3 times per week with dried seaweed attached to a rock or using a veggie clip is recommended.
