Description
The Spotted Mandarin, known as the Spotted Mandarinfish, Psychedelic Mandarinfish, Psychedelic Fish, or Picture Dragonet, was discovered in the Western Pacific Ocean in 1976 by Peters. Its body, fins, and head are a stunning mix of blue, orange, and black spots on a green base. Males can be identified by their longer first dorsal spine compared to females. This species is most comfortable in a 30 gallon tank or larger with live substrate and plenty of hiding spots. With proper care, it can thrive in reef aquariums. The Spotted Mandarin is typically peaceful towards other fish, except for those of the same species.
Discover the success of breeding the Spotted Mandarin in your own aquarium! Feed them a mix of live brine shrimp and black worms, enriched with essential vitamins. Watch as they eagerly hunt and devour natural prey found in live rock and sand.
