Forktail Blenny (Meiacanthus atrodorsalis)

Description

The Forktail Blenny has a unique caudal fin with two long spines and five shorter middle spines. Its body sports a pale blue that fades to bluish-yellow at the tail. Males are larger and have an array of color shifts while breeding. This fish needs a tank of at least 30 gallons and should live solo – unless kept as a breeding pair. Handle with care: its venomous bite can be painful. Feed it crustacean flesh, mysis and enriched brine shrimp, and frozen herbivore food.
